Bio
I was born in my grandparentsʼ small rural Kentucky farmhouse where my mother lived while my father was serving in Europe during World War II. Later she moved to the big city of Louisville to work in a factory producing military goods. Two elderly neighbor men took care of me during the day. They taught me to read, and they talked to me about world events.
At the age of six and a half, my father came back from overseas and we moved to Florida where I was entered into a conventional school that I found frustrating. The other kids were reciting their ABCʼs while I was reading novels. I had come to love reading and yearned to be a writer when I grew up.
After college I joined the Air Force as a pilot and was surprised to learn that even that required a great deal of written documentation. Based on all the stories I picked up from other pilots, I self-published my first fiction book titled Heavy Jets. I paid for the advertising, but it sold well enough to return the cost. Still, I kept submitting stories to magazines and book publishers with little success until Terror on the Tundra was picked up by a legitimate small press.
I was elated to be a published author and went back to writing with even more enthusiasm. I followed up with Terror in the Smokies, Terror in Appalachia, and Terror in the Sunshine State. Then I tried to broaden my subjects and wrote Counter Intelligence, Once Upon a Time There Was a War, Kentucky Weed, Vienna, One Last Mission, and Genetic Imperative.
Itʼs been great being able to share my imagination and storytelling with so many others.
